Very slow downloading speed

hi ppl i am from delhi and have mtnl tri band broadband service which is suppose to provide me with minimum downloading of 256 kbps but it is only
giving around 20 -25 kbps, pls suggest me what to do??:S

If you have a connection of 256kbps..then it can be termed as the browsing speed..

your download speed is your speed divided by 8..

that is 256/8 = 32kbps..

you should get around 32 kbps from direct downloads..so dont worry your speed is fine..

dude use IDM you can get full 32kbps downloading speed.

it is 256 kilo bits per second not kilo bytes per second so as per your connection you should get download speed 256/8 = 32 kilo bytes per second. Use internet download manager to get full download speed.
