Any recommendations for a good VFM wireless keyboard? The most important aspect is that typing should be a good comfortable experience, as I intend to use it mainly to draft long legal documents. Other than pricing and ergonomics, the other aspects that would be nice to have are good battery life and good range.

Budget: roughly 1 - 2K. Flexible though.

Right now I am intrigued by the Logitech Mk345. Unfortunately it seems to be a brand new product, and I could only find one review (on Amazon India) - it doesn't seem to be available in the US or UK either - so no reviews there. Even the one unboxing video (posted by someone in India) only talks about the damn box and the blue underside, and not how good (or bad) the typing experience on it is.

this might or might not be helpful - am using a logitech k270 w/l keyboard. played a few games too on it briefly. keys are smooth to press, very less noise while typing (EDIT: as compared to a cheap wired keyboard), but doesn't feel like typing on a new laptop. no issues too so far. moreover, it was lying with me all packed for the past 3 years (i had received it for free with my TV 3 years back). took it out to put it to general use only in late Oct. this year.

logitech told to me that it has been discontinued some time back; but i still see it selling on a few online portals. whatever the 'official successor' to it is, i hope that's also good.

Had ordered the Logitech mk345, but didn't like it so have returned it. The range was poor (the keyboard and mouse would cut off / have lag even 3-4 feet away if it wasn't in line of sight), the mouse was really small and not comfortable, and the keyboard itself was no great shakes - normal stuff). Looking again - the strongest contender is the Anker CB310 keyboard and mouse combo. Unfortunately it's for Rs. 4,100 here and Rs. 2,300 in the US so will probably wait for someone to carry it from there.

Would appreciate any other suggestions.

I am using this for the last 1 year:

It is over your budget but you could consider it. I like the fact that the keyboard is spacious and there is room to place our palms. I dont like the ultra compact keyboards that are in vogue these days.

Range is good. Been using the mouse from 4-5 feet daily from my bed. Mouse works on one battery too. Though mouse batteries last barely a month. On the other hand, havent had to replace the keyboard batteries for the last one year.

i take back my words; keys of logitech k270 are indeed noisy (though easy to press and fairly precise in typing). used the keyboard after a gap of 2 months, and realised my mistake in my above post. however, they are still calmer than the keys of my last cheap wired keyboard. :P

congrats! but for the combo's price, it should be good. a comparison of brands on a factor of equivalent price will be better.
anyway, enjoy the typing-fest.

I got it from Amazon.com (through a cousin coming from the US) for $35 (Rs. 2,200): so at that price it is absolutely comparable (and far superior in fact) to the Logitech mk345. Don't get me wrong - I have a lot of Logitech products and ordinarily like the brand a lot. But the mk345 combo was nothing great, and I am loving my new discovery of Anker! I got a power bank made by Anker as well - 13000 mAh, 3A dual USB charger for $30 (Rs. 1,850) - fantastic!!

So as it turns out the Anker keyboard and mouse combo is super sglitchy. If you see the errors in this post, ict's s because the kdkeyboard loves to insert random characters at its own will. Needleaess to say for my use (professional - drafting long documents) this is useless.

Back to the drawing board for me - anyone have any beatter luck in a VFM wireless keyboard/ keyboard+mouse combo?

only the likes of logitech, MS, etc. come to mind. though haven't checked the latest offerings.

Just for anyone who stumbles on to this threads in a futile search like me for a reliable wireless keyboard and mouse. They don't exist. Buy a wired one. Conceal the wires. You don't have a choice.

Your earlier post needs an editing. Was about to get it, but glad that i carried on reading further.
Never was a fan of wireless kb/mouse since i noticed the errors and glitches.

Any decent [mouse + backlit keyboard] combo in wired variety for recommendation?

i've used microsoft wireless desktop 800 for more than a year without any issues... Now recently got mk270r and so far no issues either

The Logitech MK240 has been my sole input device across laptop, PC, smartphone and tablet for more than a year. I find it quite comfortable to use, the the mouse is a tad smaller than what I would have preferred. But, still, the one feature that I still find irreplaceable is its compactness. I mean, the dedicated number keypad is a serious wastage of resources.
I have been unable to find any MK240 in the market, but Rapoo is selling a model that looks like the same thing. Can't vouch for the quality though.
