I need a graphic card suitable for a 845 chipset(4X) motherboard which has a regular composite AV connectors. The purpose is to connect the PC display out to a TV.The television here is an Onida KY Thunder which I suppose dosen't sport a S-video connector. So I'll be needing the names of video cards which are currently available in the market which would allow the display to be routed over via the AV cables and if possible their cost.Do TV tuner cards sport this facility?

can u please tell me why u need to connect the PC to the TV...cauz as far as my experience goes ..if u connect the PC to the TV through the standard AV connectors /or even S-video connector the quality is not good .u cant read anything ..thats written..and there is lot of flickering the best way i think is to connect it via Component connectors (RBG) the one used for dvd players...but i have not used them either...as the Component cables are expensive ..

Whats HTCP ?..and will connecting the PC to TV by..Component connector..make the picture quality sharp and clear ?

It's a card required by my neighbour and not me.Nextly the major factor is most probably to watch Divx or WMV based movies or may be play some games which AFAIK would look fair enough. And FYI I have seen the text display via a ATI Radeon 9600 (S-Video) on a Sony 25' Television and it looked dull enough but standard images, movies and heck even games looked commendable. The only downfall was that the sound was to be on the PC as there was no audio out.Let me make it very clear that this ain't any HTPC or such adventure so please someone atleast recommend me a Video card name.

even a simple MX 4000 has a s-video out...so if u r need..is only s-vid out..u can get a second hand /brand new mx4000 ...or a fx5200 ....just depends on u r budget..whats the budget ??

How do I spell it out to you? The TV isn't S-Video compatible meaning it doesn't have the S-Video port.Hence I need a card with the composite AV cables which I could plug into the Television & view it in AV mode.

Edit:The budget is around 3k.

You can buy my G5200 AGP card.

Install in your system.
It has ONE VGA OUT and ONE S-VIDEO OUT.
It comes with a S-VIDEO to AV Converter Cable to Connect it with any TV. :hap2:

and biggest thing is that you can see two seperate display in Monitor and TV parellely.

u dont need to spell it out..i know what u need...

yes..the above mentioned cards..have a s-vid to compoiste connectors..means..at the gfx cards..end ..there is a s-vid connector ..and at the tv's end..there is the simple video connector(used in VCD players)...hope this will work out ??...at 3k u will get a geforce 6200 agp

Nearly All graphics cards with tv out function do have composite as well s-video tv out signals. the tv-out connector at the back of a gfx card have 7 pins. 5 are for s-video and the the balance 2 is of composite.

cheaper for you will be to purchase a s-video to composite cable / adaptor for around Rs. 45 /10 respectively.

Agree, BUT

then you can't see two seperate display in Monitor and TV parellely.

That dual view depends upon the capability of the gfx card. if the gfx card has dual view capability then it does not matter whether you use a s-video cable or composite ....it will show two seperate views.
