Video CD data error

I have some movies taken by video camera saved on a cd. When I tried to copy the cd to my PC it showed error after 16% copy and then I tried the nero copy cd option and it copied the video to my PC but when i played it, it was in a very bad condition and was not viewable.

Pls tell if there is any method to recover my video data from CD.

I had similar issue with one of my Video CD. I use BadCopy Pro Tool to recover an unreadable data. Though the tool is old one but does the Job pretty well.

I have faced error while copying the .DAT file from video CDs many a times when they used to die at the last couple of percentages (cannot read from disk etc). In that case i used to copy using DOS wherein most the file got copied and rest of the part after error was not copied. Not like windows copy where if any error came, it used to roll back the entire copy.

You can also try creating an nero image and copy the same in another CD or run that image directly in something like VLC player. But i think that is something you have already tried.

you can try this : Bad CD/DVD recovery
Usually Video CD deteriorates with time, so you are facing such error. My personal suggestion it to apply a plastic layer on the lop side of the CD
