Video Information editor

Like for songs, generally mp3s, we have ID3 tags and their editor to add information about song's artist and album and stuff, is there any way to do the same for a video file? If yes then please tell me the software to do so. :ashamed:

r u talking about the tag for video files or actual editing of the videos to change the video partner logo..etc sony, tseries etc.

OK, let me be clear here. I've got $hitloads of PORN![almost 1TB] :ohyeah:
Now I want to organize it into something much more meaningful than just "Cougar Hunter" or "Asstastic Asians" or "Soccer Moms 8", hope u catch my drift.
Now I want to tag the videos according to the "Artist" so that when I want, I can perform an artist based search on them ;) It should also allow me to see the relative information when I right-click it to see its properties. Same information should also be available if I open it in Ubuntu.
Now tell me the software that can allow me to do so. :cool2:

Well call it whatever u want to but I like everything in my PC to be organized be it my songs or my porn. Going on my "aukaat", u Sir r no saint either. I won't believe u if said u ain't got no Porn stash of ur own in ur PC. If u have got no porn in ur PC then there is only one logical and rational explanation for this, u got no cajones buddy!

It works but the problem is same, it keeps all the information in a separate database that it creates and application specific. I want to append the details under the "Details" tab when I right-click on a video. So far only wmv files can be appended by default. Is there any way to extend this functionality to other formats too like avi,mp4,mkv etc?

What if you rename the filenames to include those 3 tags, then any generic file finder app will work.

Does PVD work for you for playback or do you want to use your own specific vid player ?

I think to get tag writing suport for many video formats will require a paid app as there are many formats each with their own tagging standards. So you can either..

- get a video tagging app which supports lots of vid formats and continue to use your own standalone vid player
- or some sort of media centric app which will do it all but then the info might be stored only inside the app's proprietary library. Advantage here is you can have as many tags as you want and a common interface to access your media.

I do use XBMC on all my OSes. Can it do what u just said? :ashamed:

I just searched PVD's forum and unfortunately it cant rename filenames like that :(

Now that you mention, its interesting to know that XBMC can't do this for you ?
