Guys I have been playing around a bit with video trans-coding. And this is one of the best samples I could make .. I would love to have inputs from other users on it .

How.I.Met.Your.Mother.S07E19.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION-004.mkv - File Shared from Box - Free Online File Storage

Am fairly new to this and wanted to make rips that are about the size of HDTV but still have a superior quality.

Converted: 205mb

dude, you should have uploaded the video on youtube so that at least people could get a glimpse of it.....i dont think any rational person would download both the videos and compare to appreciate your effort

thank you for your input

Uploaded on youtube for easy viewing but the quality seems to be compromised.

no use uploading on youtube. it re compresses video with its own codec for flash player.

1. what software you used and what codec to recompress?

2. what settings were used?

Ripbot is a very easy but powerful tool for transcoding TV SHOWS (and use x264 codecs instead of Xvid / DivX, which has better compressibility)

RipBot264 is a an easy to use All-In-One Converter. Convert from DVD, Blu-ray or any video to iPod, iPad, PSP, PS3, XBOX360, PC, MAC, MP4, MKV, Blu-ray or AVCHD without exotic filters and unnecessary settings. Requires Java 32bit, AVisynth, ffdshow, haali media splitter and .Net Framework.
