I bought a Videocon D2H a month ago after requesting a call from their website. The customer care lady was all sweet and had high promises. Considering the history of Indian companies and customer relationship, I took everything with a pinch of salt. But had some expectations...not much but still some.
So, after paying the "engineer" called me for installation. Being an office going guy, I told him install can be done either in early morning by 10 am or after evening 6. The engineer was all ears...he dint come to his "office" till 11am and evening 6 was too dark for him to see. The start was very smooth, so smooth wished never had bought the connection. So anyway after calling CC and telling them to refund my money, the "engineer" relented. He came in the evening at 6 to install. So far so good.
I had 3 months Diamond pack with them and was wishing for a smooth sail at least for that time. Well, how could that happen? 1 month down and the connection was bust. Called my so called personal Customer Care representative. No answer on that number. Tried toll free numbers. All useless. A STD call...10 mins in queue..only to get someone who said "keep the box on for 2 hours and the issue will resolve itself". And..it dint.
A complain was registered...24hrs rectification promise. After 24 hours, the technician calls at 11am (when I am in office) if I was at home. As I was not...asked him to come by 5 (bunking office early so that he doesn't have issue "seeing in the dark"). No use. He doesn't come...all calls are unanswered. Next day..another call from the technician and same old story...this time even on asking to come by 1.30pm afternoon.
God knows what I need to get my connection fixed.
So, guys don't go for D2H. Just complete BS ppl with low cost incentive. If you do, be ready to listen to gems like "Company promises 24-48hrs installation/complaint resolution but that is just arbitrary. It can't be done on such short notice. " The staff painting his company as a fraud.
Changing my connection to Airtel D2H. Hoping to get something good from there.
