Hi guys..

i have an internet connection from you telecom..it works well in windows XP...but i just installed vista home premium...i installed the network card...its a realtek 8139 sumthin.device manager shows it as working properly..

but the Local area connection has an x mark on it and it jus says acquiring address does nothing.. i even put the same ip addresses and dns as my xp settings...i tried diagnosing the connection.. still nothing works..can anyone help me..this is quite annoying

Turn off the modem.

Select obtain IP address and DNS server automatically.

Disable the Local Area Connection by right clicking on the icon and select disable.

Turn on the modem and re-enable the local are connection.

Hope that helps.

If you have installed a update by this name:

Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Networking - Realtek RTL8187 Wireless 802.11g 54Mbps USB 2.0

... it means you have installed the wrong update!!

Just reverse the driver to the last driver and it all will be fine.
