Vista / Windows XP

I had an old disk connected to my pc which had Windows XP on it. I have installed windows vista on a new 640gb disk. Now when i remove the old windows xp disk i am not able to boot to vista. Probably some boot files i have been written to the XP disk. Could anybody tell me how to overcome this ?
