Can someone verify this. I have samsung bourdeaux that supports 720p and 1080i... Now I generally download 720p media as opposed to 1080p media. Now what would be visuall better in the scenarios below, considering my tv ability:

1) Standard 720p media in 720p mode

2) 1080p media with TV set in 720p mode

3) 1080p media with TV set in 1080 i mode

Thanks for your replies.

Doing a little bit of reading. If the viewing distance is 10ft or greater and if the size of the LCD is 32" than you wont notice difference between 1080p and 720p as human eye is not able to decipher all the details.

^^Above link does not do justice to HD media. The link on this thread is much much better and goes a long way in showing the difference.

You are absolutely correct, for 32" I think it's even less than 10ft.. 3-4 ft maybe, look at the graph between the screen size and viewing distance when benefits of particular resolutions become noticeable.

You can use the THX calculator to find out the exact distance if you don't want to read the graph.
