I am meeting this guy tomorrow from whom I am buying a Vita. It is the WiFi model only.
The guy got it through his cousin from Dubai. The purchase date he has mentioned is June 2013 but does not have the box or bill. Eventhough I have seen how ludicrous Sony Service Center is it still makes me a bit uneasy.
He is selling me the Vita alongwith a 4GB memory card with 2 games on it.

He has mentioned that the condition is good and has scratchguards applied but doesn't have a pouch or he has not mentioned it.

I would like to know -
If I log in with my PSN account will the digital games that this guy has installed still work?
Can I back up the games and saved data on PC and restore them at will on the same or a different memory card?
Like PSP (Media Go) can I download the game on PC and then move it to the Vita?

If I get the device I will get a 16 GB memory card later on and will use it for playing PSN+ games only so backing up and restoring games something I will need to do frequently. Don't want to use PS3 for this purpose as I am running out of space on it.

1 reason I am inclined on this model is because I was planning to get a Vita at some point and the new model that will come out is not that appealing.

vita is tied to one account only. if you deauthorize the console then you cannot play the games that the seller has put on it. maybe seller is an idiot, if he gives you retail games bought from PSn, you can actually use his account and if you know the password, you can empty his credit card lol
you can copy the game to the PC, but his games are his. if you try to add them to your account they will not work as PSN did not register your purchase. You will have to buy them again.
your own games? yes you can move them to a PC and change your mem card to 16GB and add them back on the new card

@Gollum - What if there are 2 profiles on the Vita using 2 PSN accounts? I think you can have multiple accounts on a PS3 each configured to a different PSN account. Not sure about the Vita.

Can saved games of PSP work on Vita for PSP titles?

Update - Seems like the Vita does not support multiple accounts and setting up will be a PITA and I will have to forget those 2 games and rely on my PSN+ account from the go.

^ Is this the only way to do it or is there a simpler way?

i have a vita, it does not support two accounts at the same time.

Yup found that out just a few minutes back.

Is the method in the link applicable on all firmwares?

Nope don't want to take his psn account.

The games are walking dead and asphalt injection.

Not an Asphalt fan and I have the option of competing walking dead before setting up my account.

Seems like a decent bloke don't want to bargain for Sony's stupidity.

Your call, of course. It's not bargaining when he is not legally allowed to sell them to you. They are tied to his account.

@whatsinaname - I really appreciate the thought but at 10k with a PS3 controller. Bargaining any lower is like a low-blow. It would not be fair to the seller.

Also he has said it himself that I can keep the games and play it as long as I want to so I can still technically play the games it's just that I am more interested in merging the device with my account because there are more games in that account. (All Hail PSN+ Good thing I kept marking those games as purchased).

By the way all I need to do is a factory reset and format the memcard that is it right?

That's a fair enough price for Vita + mem card + PS3 controller. Looks like he isn't trying to charge you for the games.

Once you finish playing them, a factory reset + memcard format is all you need.

Thanks mate. Music to my ears.

Told you bargaining would be unfair.

Nice bloke - a horror game fanatic. I don't know why how we ended up discussing horror games from nostalgia topic at around 1 AM. Bloody a$$ gave me a sleepless night because I suddenly remembered the basement scene from 'The Conjuring' and spent the night going in and out of sleep.

P.S.: Added Silicon Cover in quoted text. Forgot to mention that earlier.

Have reset the Vita and setup my account.

I have installed Guacamalee and Stealth Inc. on it.

How big is Soul Sacrifice and which is better Gravity Rush or Soul Sacrifice? It is a 4 GB memcard so can install only 1 and I am close to hitting the FUP limit.

Is there a proxy server for it similar to PS3? I can still use PS3 proxy server for it but it is a long route -
1. Get vita download url from PS3 on PC
2. Download it on PC
3. Transfer it to PS3
4. Transfer it to Vita

@Gollum @whatsinaname -
I backed up 'Guacamalee' on my PC to install Soul Sacrifice and removed 'Guacamalee'. It did tell me that it will delete the saved games as well but I figured that it was a part of the back up.
Just to see if it restores properly I tried restoring it again. The game restored but the save files got deleted. Fortunately I have backed up the save files on PSN+ but doesn't backing up the game on PC back up the saved games as well?

I don't see an option for backing up 'Saved game' from the Vita to the PC.

Vita game saves are tied to the shortcut on the Vita. (Notice how even if you remove the cart the shortcut remains on your Vita?)

You have to use Vita Content Manager to backup game saves.
