This is not strictly a legit way to get the app as it's still in beta, but you can get it here.
Download vlc4iphone!!!

create a vlc folder in the media directory:
var/mobile/Media/vlc

Set the permissions of the following file to 777:
applications/vlc4iphone.app/vlc

enjoy WMV/XVID/ASF/MOV hyeah:

A slightly more legit way would be to get MPlayer which was released to public a few days back. Supports wmv,mpeg4 etc. etc.
