Can any one tell the spec of vodafone data card ?
I want to buy a data card cos I don't have BB at home.....:(
Recently heard that vodafone providing 3g data card @1200/- with 2GB data free.....
Also heard vodafone giving 6GB data for 95 with 30 days validity for prepaid.
And vodafone got better signal in my area too.
But,don't know this applicable for Kolkata or not.....

I dont have any idea about the data card, but as far as the 2G data plan goes, it is 98 bucks for 2gb data.

You have VMC access so it should be fine with a data card too :)

The vodafone website has information about postpaid here: Vodafone 3G USB Stick: 3G USB Modem - Internet access for laptop & Desktop | Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh

Postpaid Plans -- 1 month -- 12 months (USB Stick free)

500 MB plan -- 499 -- NA

1 GB plan -- 699 -- 6499

Unlimited plan -- 899 -- 7499

Rate post free usage -- 10p/10KB -- 10p/10KB

Prepaid would definitely be more costly than this. No idea about FUP. The unlimited plan looks good, provided it is really unlimited.

i am using the voda 3g "ready" stick for two months
sales rep wanted 1600 for the stick, being an old postpaid customer, haggled and got for 1500
(with a silver coin and el chepo watch)
current plan 500+tax for 10GB PM
speeds just above 200kbps according to speedtest
but actual speed of opening sites drops to 80kbps during peak hours

well, this will be the 2g plan. so i guess that is pretty ok ok rate. not that great.most places as far as I have seen, it is a 3g ready stick with 2g data plan they are selling.

You can always get the card and then put a prepaid sim, recharge with 98 bucks to get a 2gb working. currently using a idea netsettter with vodaphone sim in kolkata.

cost 98 bucks via recharge a month n is fine for me.

yes, exactly

@OP: these are 2g rates

the stick is sold as 3g ready for the 2g network so those prices are for 2g and irrelevant in the context of being 3g data prices

Thanks for ur replies guys.

I went to voda shop.

they told me 2GB @98/- for prepaid and 3G ready card @1600/-.

But,when I asked about data card model, brand and spec they just ignore and told its 3G ready.....:@

at last ;) i can finally answer the above question....
just used my bsnl 3g (speeds like 0.3g inside room though much better outside)
and my airtel edge sim
both worked....
so my voda zte k35**z is NOT LOCKED :) :)

OH BTW posted the above through airtel sim in voda stick

I went before to voda store and I told them that I have a voda pre paid SIM and I want a USB modem.

And they were telling some fcking excuses and told that I must have to take post paid connection.....

Just walk into any vodafone store...
But i don't know if they have any prepaid data plans for that stick
the way isp's in india are functioning today........expecting plans without fup is like expecting 2mbps on dial up....:P
