Vodafone selling SGS2 but not iPhone 4? :O

Hey Guys,

Was going through the news paper today, The Times Of India and noticed that Vodafone is now selling Samsung Galaxy S II. I was surprised to observe that Vodafone which atleast i expected to bring out the Apple iPhone 4 under its banner has not happened and instead has launched the Samsung GS2.

It also offers 1GB/month data FREE on 2G/3G/EDGE for 6 months if you buy the SGS2!! That sounds lucrative, but it hasn't disclosed the price of the phone. Which is also not visible on their website, it still shows the Blackberrys and the previous iPhones.

So what do you guys think? A better strategy to bring out SGS2 instead of iPhone 4?

this is discussed to death on xda forums, the price is around 31500..
you can look thru xda for more details,
i for one dont trust vodafone so much, would rather buy from outside..

This is pretty old news. Vodafone is selling SGS2 since 3june. Its only that today they advertised in TOI.

And so what they r selling SGS2 its better phone overall than iphone4 so no harm in selling it.

Aircel and airtel is already selling iphone 4 , so doesnt make point all service providers sale same phones.

Price is now i think reduced by vodafone to 30000(m not sure).

The free data useage is for any sgs2 not necessarily bought from vodafone... My bro bought the sgs2 and poped in my card for trial cause he is a cdma user... So was thinkin of buying vodafone for the phone... I took out the card in 5 mins from the phone and later after an hour got a message "U have free 1gb data usage on 2g, 3, and edge nw for the first 6 months"....

So even if u buy fro outside and pop in a vodafone card u will get those free data usage...

So was thinkin of buying vodafone for the phone... I had no idea about it. And about AirCel and Airtel selling the iPhone already i thought Vodafone may also enter the race. I was a bit surprised just because i havnt seen any service provider selling phone other than Blackberry and Apples in India. SGS2 is a good phone no doubt, but people who are not Android fanbois will always prefer iPhones. And for the fact, i personally wont ever go for a Samsung phone. If i had to buy an Android, i'd rather prefer HTC!

Yup. A friend bought an SGSII from a shop and Vodafone still offered that plan.
