Just checked out today's TOI, its Volkswagen all over. Even the cutie Beetle is coming to India :hap2:
Vokswagen is coming to Indian market with a bang.

Btw it is not pronounced as वोल्क्सवेगन but फोल्क्सवेगन. I never knew this :ashamed:
 
^^ Any clue about cost ??? Btw yes Beetle would appeal more to Ladies as it has the cuteness factor. In fact me too thinks it looks cute :ashamed:
 
OT: The ad in TOI is bit too much, and today may be the last day of my TOI subscription. I understand they generate the revenue by ads, but more than half the paper for VW and still the price remains same. This is the last straw!

On topic: ya, curious about Beetel, especially about its pricing!

in the whole paper, the news was there only in 5 pages, rest everything was about VW, no limit to capitalism:@
 
nice spread out advert in the paper today. if they are spending that much on advertising, they must be hoping for a great big sale of their vehicles. although the cost of the adverts will be far less than the profits they'll be making by selling the beetle alone. LOL.

the beetle featured in the paper looked cute as hell. the ladies will have a field day with all their cute stuff, and now they have another "cute" thing to add to their collection.
 
Most of the words starting with a 'V' in german are pronounced as 'F'

As for the Beetle, from what I have heard, its going to be launched in the 20L territory which is a waste IMHO.

I am looking forward to the Polo and Golf GTi (if at all they plan to launch it :P)

Having had the opportunity to check out their plant here in Pune, I can confirm that the plant is insane, humongous !
Infact Mercedes Benz also has a new plant in the vicinity and compared to the VW plant, it looks puny :P
 
Its going to be a CBU, so prices are going to be high. Looks like the Beetle will be priced around 20L OTR. At that price the owner will have an invisible "I am a fool" tag :P

Polo is coming this december. :hap2:

Today's TOI seems like Volkswagen bought the whole paper and decided to put some articles in it just so that readers don feel like reading only ADs :)

Since I am also from pune, I would surely try to visit their plant. It looks insanely big though from outside :ohyeah:
 
^^ Where is the plant in Pune ?? And you guys talking about visiting it ?? You dont get free entry there right ?? I mean any commoner walking there would be treated as a trespasser.:S
 
You can try to see the plant from outside. You can just make out the buildings, etc....

It is actually a little outside Pune. Near Bajaj's plant in Chakan.
 
Why are you complaining re?

The Beetle is no longer cheap. Everywhere in the world, it has a premium pricing to compete with the Mini, Fiat 500, etc.... So, expect Fiat 500 pricing. At least 15 lakhs or so.

Blame the government and their ridiculous customs and import duties. If we didnt have that, the car would cost around 7-8 lakhs. Now, it will cost double.
 
Nice move to launch the beetle though I doubt if its in the 20L category that would be pretty ridiculous given its specs are far lower than the Jetta and Laura itself.

Anybody know if the MiniCooper would launch in India?

I have a preference for hatchbacks over sedans and our Indian market lacks in the decent hatch segment.

We have the Fabia and the Jazz and then straight to the merc and bmw hatches.

Edit:

I meant the x3/x5 and m class and all which aren't really hatches and more SUV like so there isn't really much of an option.
