^^ Not really sure about the tech specs.. If you can manage to get the V-Guard, then nothing like it. Else, Everest also makes decent stabilizers. Do check them. You might get them locally.
 
Vasanth and Co itself has V Guard VG400 :ashamed: Offer price is 1.6k. Going for it since it has 170V-270V range and by Gannu's recommendation.;) Thanks Gannu and Logistopath.

@Logistopath - Yeah. I too prefer V-Guard. Thats the reason why i went to near by town to source it when all the local dealers didnt have the LCD Stabilizer. So this time i assumed they wouldnt have the AC Stabilizer and kept whining in the forum :sorry:

So considering my room dimensions (Room Size : 12 x 11 x 10 (L*B*H)) i guess 1.25T would be ideal. More comments on this please.

One more important change. Now decided to install the AC in the identical ground floor room. So there is a room above and only the South-West facing wall recieves direct sunlight. All other walls under shade.

@Gannu - What is your opinion buddy? Going by your experiences i think this model would suit me fine. Any more comments on the AC after extended usage now of about a month? Is it proving sufficient considering peak summer is approaching?

Are these prices from Chennai! I went to Viveks and they quoted me 18.5k for the AC,stabilizer,installation combo.I asked for a break down and he said it is a package deal and it comes together.I want to get a better stabilizer,the stabilizer they provide,I doubt if it will be upto the mark.

Get from Vasanth & Co, They are Panny AC distri in TN. So you might get it cheaper. I got them in a small town in TN as you can see from my location.
 
^Hey when are you getting the unit installed?

I am having the best summer of my life even though work has become a bit tougher. The last one was horrid!

Unit is installed at my native Monday evening. Even the installation guys are hard to get hold off(since its different, newer type of split) and now the AC is even harder to get!!! I am at work in another place :( Will update views when i visit home next week.

I finally booked one from Vasanth and Co. They were offering the lowest price amongst all at 18k, Viveks quoted 18.5k.I got it down to 17.6k incl. everything.The installation guys might come in Saturday.btw,did you require any extra piping? If so,how much did they ask per metre?

Nothing extra was needed. I too got similar pricing 17.7k all inclusive (V-Guard VG400 stabilizer inclusive)

About the white wash. Did you use enamel paint or what? Was the heat reduction just a fraction or what? My room is just under the terrace too and it gets very very hot in here. Just not possible to get through the day without AC. I might implement the whitewash idea if you can share some more info about it.
