VPN and network proxy conflict

Hello guys,

I am struck with a strange problem in my office. I connect to customer VPN using one browser for my work. I use proxy for this. I continue using internet using proxy from another browser. My office has this pathetic policy of 500MB/Week and I end up using that in four days for official work. After this I can only connect to VPN which can be accessed bypassing proxy, but while connected like this, I cannot connect to internet. It changes the IP address or something and cannot find the proxy server. I cannot get the internet quota increased due to other restrictions.

The question: Can I use VPN bypassing proxy from one browser while I use internet from another browser using proxy? This is not happening currently. No point in asking my IT team. They are hopeless.

If yes, can someone tell me the steps? Below are the ipconfig details before and after connecting to customer VPN. Im on WinXP 32Bit
