VPN Issues

I have a server in my office in Mumbai running Windows Server 2003. I have setup a VPN server on that server.

In my factory I have a BSNL connection, where the ADSL Router is directly connected to the Switch and all the computers in the factory have internet access.

Now I need about 5 of those computers to connect simultaneously to the VPN Server.

The problem is, at any point of time.. only ONE client can connect to the VPN server. If any other computer tries to connect it reaches the "Verifying Username and Password" part and then says "Error 721 : Remote computer didnt repsond"

I would like to know from any expert on VPNing : Can multiple clients on a shared internet connection connect to the same VPN server ?

Multiple incoming connections is not an issue since I can connect from 3-4 different locations to the VPN Server , this is a problem only when multiple clients on the same network (using the same internet connection / shared) try connecting to the VPN server.

I'll be very greatful if someone can advice me on this issue. Its very urgent.

If configuration is correct, there can't be any problem in multiple clients on a shared internet connection connect to the same VPN server.

If your load is less, try Hamachi. It will avoid the headache of configuring VPN.
 
On the server its the default VPN Server creation from windows itself.

The server was setup using the following tutorial :-
Configure a Windows Server 2003 VPN on the server side

It was setup successfully. I created multiple accounts and I can connect from each of them so thats not an issue.

RiO : I read somewhere on the net that the number of VPN PAssthroughs (OUTGOING) depends on what the router is being used. If you multiple VPN connections going through the same router then you need a specific type of router which allows that. < THIS is what I need someone to confirm for me.

The factory uses a BSNL connection where the ADSL 2+ Router being used is a MLR21E Compex Router which apparently doesnt allow multiple outgoing VPN connections.

What I wanted to know is, if I buy a router that allows multiple VPN passthroughs and connect it in between the ADSL Router and the SWITCH , will it fix the problem ?
 
Single Public IP assigned by BSNL itself.

BSNL Connection ---- > ADSL Router -----> Switch ----- > Cleints.

Thats all. I guess the Router acts as the NAT device. ?

If anyone who knew VPN setup's in detail could help !
 
You keep on saying ADSL router... is that an ADSL modem + router? I don't think it is a true router... appears to be more of a NAT. If so, you may need to switch off the NAT feature of the ADSL modem, and get another NAT which does correctly support multiple VPN connections. Good luck.
