Vu 40K16 40 Inches Full HD LED Television

Anybody using this as a monitor..

My nvidia gts 450 has some problems detecting the TV as a secondary screen..
Detects the HDMI source displays for some time and then disappears. This happens randomly..
Also sometimes shows Hitachi as the source in EDID.. Where the native res is 1080p
And switches to generic vga and has 1024*768 as res

Radeon based laptop works fine.. Other than the overscan/underscan problem

Raspberry works completely fine
If you have eliminated the hdmi cable as a potential issue, you might have to set the refresh rate to 50/60hz in the Nvidia settings of your gpu, also verify the same on the TV, there is a memc mode or something that people on the other forums referred to.

I don't think HDMI as the culprit as both laptop and raspberry are working fine

Also can't change the refresh rate as the display is detected with only as vga..
I think the TV is not generating edid information..
Since even in laptop catalyst center the display name and supported resolution for hdmi is blank

Is anybody using this as a monitor..

Please share the gfx card you are using..
Or any problems faced while connecting to pc..

I'm finding it damn difficult.. It displays as Hitachi HDMI for some time generic pnp monitor a few times and windows doesn't detect the TV most of the time.. It's like a lottery system every time you switch on the pc

I am using a LG TV as a monitor with an MSI R9 290.
Initially I had a lot of problems with BSODs, so instead of the latest diver I experimented with some older drivers too, an older Omega driver solved the problem.

Update your chipset, monitor drivers and experiment with graphics drivers.

Be careful with the HDMI port when connecting and disconnecting, I lost 2 of my 4 ports due to hot swapping. Although LG replaced the logic board for free, it was a PIA for a few days.

Anything guys..
This issue is getting on my nerves now...
The whole htpc build is useless without this as I don't have a extra monitor and have to bring the monitor from bedroom to hall every time to look for the issue

I am assuming you are using HDMI cable to pass audio to the TV. You might try connecting the HTPC to the TV with a VGA cable and pass audio to the TV via optical/coaxial cable. VGA wont have the HDMI problems while still maintaining 1080p resolution

Vga doesn't v support 1080p dude

Noticed a strange phenomenon..
Regarding backlight bleed..

There is a lot of static electricity generated why you run your palm over the screen...
Also if you keep the palm over the screen for 5-10 sec.. I find that the backlight bleed during blacks increases in that area...

Can you guys try this. And post the observations

My angle in this is that there is slight backlight bleed in my TV ... Unlike other bleeds which is usually at the edges.. This looks like wipe marks ..
So I guess there is something on the other side on the panel ..

I told you mate, it could be the cable, I think you mentioned that the cable was working with other devices.
Damn man wasted two weeks...
Dunno how the hell was it working with laptop and raspberry...

Will never buy cheap shit stuff again

The cable dude, there is nothing wrong with VU/Micromax TVs, they are absolute value for money.
+1 dude...

Yup absolute vfm..
Hope nothing goes wrong with the hardware...
The panel is just mind blowing... Even looks better than TVs with double the price

Also the backlight bleed is a different issue .. It's not visible during Black's with pc input.. It's only with the setop box
