I saw the ad of the Vu intelligent TV in today's TOI (Mumbai Edition). Is it worth buying this TV or for that matter, this brand ?
Any idea what is the street price of this 46 incher ?

^^ Costly...since it is a Vu brand ???

As Samsungs and Sonys are like 90k+ for 46" LCD

I have personally never need a vu lcd.So cant comment on quality.

The Samsungs and Sony are costly for a reason.

What is your budget for the lcd tv.

Have not set my budget yet, but need to get a 46" LCD in say November month

I will have an additional investment on a media player (WD TV , PCH types)

^^ :O

What ?????? 50k and two LCD Tvs, are Vu TVs bad that croma has to put up such offers to forgo the stock. Just my opinion.

The problem with me is that i want a 46" one and i suppose upto 40" most of the brands have a 1000 Rupees per inch or less calculation but as soon as we jump to higher inches, the price jump is double and not directly proportional :@

check the new croma offer on VU..
40" vu full hd+samsung series 4 26" hd ready lc for 49990/-

40" vu + samsung 21" for 50k

sony 40" s-series cost 68k at croma.. the same lcd costs $800 (Rs.40k) in US.

as far as the pricing of VU is concerned .. They are not cheap but reasonable.
Quality of picture also seams to be good can not comment on after sales service.

I still think that vu is worth buying...
VU internet tv gives an atom processor which wont play HD content smoothly..
so get an HTPC instead of the internet TV

FWIW, I am getting surprisingly good results on a 50" Micromax
I ordered it for the heck of it since it cost just a tad more than known brand 32"- And pleased to say that the contrast /viewing angles are as good as the Samsung in the living room

Can't comment on the longevity

Also, Vu is supposed to be a better brand than Micromax
As for the smart bit, you are better off with OSMC running on a Rpi2 compared to the in-built smartness of any smart TV
Suggest you go to a store and compare the Vu back-to back with others
