Why do you want to go for intel.

Here is the config i got for my friend last week.

Amd Sempron 2500 64 Bit - 3000

Asus K8v mx - 3000

Seagate 80gb - 2700

Samsung 703s - 5500

Transcend 512mb 400 Mhz - 2200

Cabinet - 1200

lg cd writer - 1300

u can check the prices here....Deltapage....prices would vary depending on ur location but u can use thi as a rough guide....
If u r really keen on an Intel system, the new celeron Ds are fairly good performers, though I'd rather go for a 64 bit sempron as suggested by hacker

I second the above mentioned config. There would be absolutely no sense in going for the budget oriented Celeron, as the Sempron packs quite a punch.

I'd like to add, it would be better to go for the Sempron 64 2600+ over the Sempron 2500+ , as the former runs at 1.6Ghz versus the latter at 1.4Ghz. Though there is a difference in cache size - 128KB(Sempron 2600+) vs 256KB (Sempron 2500+), I personally feel the clock speed is much more important.

P.S: Hacker, the prices are a tad bit on the higher side. The Sempron 2500+ is about 2.5K here, with the 2600+ coming in at 2.9K.
