Hello experts,

I am planning to build a Media player system dedicated for playing music and video files .

I wnat to know,

1. CPU and Motherboard, Ram configuration with a separate Graphics card for video play back

2. No sound card but I need digital audio out from system to a DAC.

3. Monitor: a very small LCD touch screen preferred. I could not find any models available. I will connect a large TV for video display. So a video ouput (HDMI or Digital Video out is required from PC

I should be able to mound this screen on the CPU cabinet itself. side or above.

4. No Key board and Mouse . Touch screen should be able to handle user input.

5. Which OS? I prefer Windows XP or 7. Is ther any Media player OS available from Windows? Dont know.

6. Overall cabiness need to be compact with cooling fans on CPU and Hard disk (s). If size is an issue, I can limit numbr of hard disk to 1.

Let me know your advise.

thanks

^^ AMD A8-3850 ~ 7500/- http://www.theitware...box-p-2256.html,

Gigabyte GA-A75M-D2H ~ 6500/- http://www.gigabyte....spx?pid=3930#ov,

Corsair XMS3 OR G.Skill 4GB x 1 1600MHz module ~ 1650/- [AMD Llano IGP's scale really well with the RAM speed, higher RAM speed reflects into higher performance but 1600MHz is the sweet spot -- http://www.tomshardw...ano,2975-6.html / http://www.anandtech...a83850-review/4]

Intel’s Nehalem architecture really did a number on the memory market. Not only did the company define a hard limit on the voltage its could reliably take, but the triple-channel configuration was in no way hurting for bandwidth. We had a handful of vendors hand us 2000+ MT/s kits, but even after jumping through the hoops (and screaming-high uncore voltage) required to get memory running that fast, the benefits were almost negligible.

You would think that the addition of on-die graphics to Clarkdale and Sandy Bridge would help bring back into the forefront. But it really didn’t, even with one channel shaved off the controller.

The thing is, before anyone can be made to care about integrated graphics scaling, the graphics engine has to be deemed viable. HD Graphics 2000—the implementation on most of Intel’s Sandy Bridge-based processors—is a baby-step better than Clarkdale’s dismal showing. Only now does Intel see the value in arming more mainstream processors with HD Graphics 3000, the way it should have at launch, which is why we finally have chips like the Core i3-2105 to test.

But as we've seen, the Radeon HD 6550D core at the heart of AMD’s A8-3850 is actually a respectable performer. So much so, in fact, that it’s hamstrung by a lack of memory bandwidth at 1333 MT/s, even in a dual-channel config.

AMD Radeon HD6670 ~ 4900/- [in case you feel that the IGP of the Llano CPU is not enough for gaming, put this card in Hybrid-CrossFire and experience a decent bump in gaming],

SilverStone SUGO SG02B ~ 4100/- http://www.primeabgb.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=1499&category_id=113&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53,

No idea about touch displays, best let other members pitch in Sire.

Windows 7 Home Premium ~ 5900/- http://www.theitwares.com/microsoft-windows-home-premium-full-p-942.html OR OEM 64-bit ~ 3500/-.

Hope this helps, Sire. Cheers!!
