I'm too using a Ryzen 9, but a 5900x, which seats on AM4 sockets.
Assuming you've already bought your 7900x, now for a board, I've been a msi fan boy, and would recommend you the same too. A B650m / x670 would fulfill your needs, costing anywhere from 15-30k, depending on the features you want and the form factor.
Followed by DDR5 rams, you can decide on yourself how much of ram do you need, but assuming for VMware, go for atleast 64gigs.
Now the core, power supply, directly jump for a 1k Watt unit to be all rounded safe and secure.
For a gpu, get whatever your budget permits.

Skip GPU if not required for now. To save upfront cost, can buy just 1 stick of RAM now. Since there will be no gaming, low frequency DDR5 RAM will be fine. Anyways you can't use EXPO at 6000MHz with 4 sticks on AMD is what I heard.

you can go with the ryzen 9 5900x if you haven't already bought the 7900x. AM4 still has some great performance to offer.
