2. Viewing distance.
approx 6-7 feet

3. Sources/inputs such as HD DTH/consoles/stand-alone media players etc.
will connect an HD set top box and a PS3

4. Preference for plasma TV/LCD TV/LED-LCD TV.
Anything except plasma

5. Preference for brands.
anything except videocon, vu, micromax, mitashi, onida
looking at toshiba 39p2305, 39L3300. models from panny, philips, sharp can also be considered.

6. Willing to purchase it from the grey market?
Yes. from Alfa is fine!

7. Ambient lighting conditions of the room.
room is never brightly lit. evening time will have yellow light/a lamp.

8. Any other feature you are looking for such as 3D support on the HDTV, DLNA capabilities etc.
None. dont want a smart tv. it just needs to support full hd preferably with at least 2 HDMI slots. would like decent sound from the tv since i dont want to spend on a sound system.

I recently bought Toshiba 39L3300 from Flipkart for 35.5k. I am really happy with the performance. Below is my review about this TV which I posted on Flipkart:

I was in a fix on which TV to buy in a limited budget of 40K. I searched online and people said good things about Toshiba TVs. They highlighted the point that Toshiba panels come with a warranty of 3 years while the ones from Sony, Samsung & LG come with 1 year warranty onlu. I couldn't believe it and hence gave a visit to nearby croma store. I had a look at LEDs from Sony, Samsung, LG and Toshiba. Personally I felt that more or less there was not difference in picture quality of Sony, Samsung, LG and Toshiba. The triluminos panel from Sony was looking better than all but again it costed around 76k. Hence there is no comparison between normal LEDs and triluminos LED from Sony.

Hence I made my mind to pick up a Toshiba LED as it was best VFM. Now I got stuck at which one to buy: 39L3300 or 39P2305. Is 3k more is really justified for 39L3300? Well believe me, it's justified as 39L3300 has following advantages above 39P2305:

1. Turbo LED in 39L3300 vs normal LED in 39P2305
2. 2 USB ports in 39L3300 vs 1 USB port in 39P2305
3. In built YouTube app in 39L3300 vs no Youtube app in 39P2305
4. Optical out in 39L3300 vs no optical out in 39P2305
5. Android screen mirroring in 39L3300 vs no screen mirroring in 39P2305

Hence I went ahead with 39L3300. Well the TV is fantastic. Color reproduction is really good. 100Hz refresh rate is good for watching sports. YouTube app works flawlessly. You can play YouTube videos on TV using you Android phone (without screen mirroring) or Computer browser once you pair your TV with YouTube. TV plays wide format of videos from HDD. It reads in 1TB HDD without any problem. Sound is also good. Overall I am really satisfied with the TV.

Flipkart's service was top-notch. TV was delivered to my door-step the next day of ordering. Flipkart also arranged the installation and demo of TV from Toshiba. Flipkart service representative followed up with me regarding demo and installation of TV. I had a hassle free experience from Flipkart.

2 USB and 1 HDMI side...rest all back.

I too recently purchased Toshiba P2305 and paired it with Google Chromecast. It looks beautiful, have powerful sound with inbuit sound bar, plays movies with 1 TB HDD smoothly and 3 year warranty is a plus. Purchased from Vijay sales with almost 10% less of flipkart price :)
