Want to buy a Projector for educational purpose.

Hi guys ,

I want to buy a VFM projector for educational purpose the main function will be to show software demonstration .

Movie watching is on second priority (Not into HD and stuff).

With most of projectors costing > 25000

I m wondering why this one is so cheap?

projectors need really high power lamps and good projection lens to be effective. the one you linked is crappy with low resolution. better stick with good companies.

Never heard of this company before . Is it safe to get device from them ?
What about after sales service?
Any special reason to go for vivitek and not to companies like benkin and panasonics

I believe it's the usual culprits - chinese unbranded parts, no QC, etc..

I think if you are on a tight budget and you want a projector for educational purposes, you are best off buying an LED based projector (not the one you mentioned above)

Look at this - BenQ Global | Products - Projectors - Joybee GP2

Fits in the palm of your hand, no lamp (higher number of hours + no heat + small size + instant on/off i.e. no inverter required), quite bright, runs on battery for 3 hours, accepts USB input to play a variety of files, 720p (HD) resolution and a 2 year warranty.

All this for Rs. 35k. Very, very reliable and VFM.

Otherwise, you can try to get a good deal on something like a Dell M110 - Amazon.com: Dell M110 Ultra-Mobile Projector: Electronics. IIRC, someone in this forum got it for around Rs. 15k.

Spend a bit of money and have peace of mind. One of the new LED projectors will either replace my current lamp-based projector or replace the LCD in my living room.

no special reason. my previous company had one of these in conference room. so remembered that. you can buy any company product you want depending on your requirements and budget.
you should actually demo these products in person and then buy instead of taking blind advice.
 
To be very frank i should have mentioned my budget earlier . Its never too late.

I want something to be < 20000 max i can spend is 25 k Not more than that.
