What all can be done with Apple TV (In India specifically) ? Never used so no idea myself.
Is it a replacement for a media player like WD TV Live or something?
Also is it jailbreakable and if yes then what are the better things the jailbreak can bring.

Me too never used.
1.Can be used as a htpc but only upto 720p.
2.Yes, it's jb'ed and play a while.
3.and can use as a airplay to mirror. So no need for hdmi connector.

It is available on apple website / ebay / amazon so you can buy from there and get it shipped via SNS.
