As the thread title suggest, I'm looking for a player with tight budget which can play most of the the video file format, nothing fancy like internal stoarge/Wi-Fi/NAS needed.

I'm ok with Single front facing USB 2.0 port.

But the player must be play every Video File format. Googled for review but not found any, maybe because low end player.

Please experts do u have any view/comments.....please share.

I have one! With your requirements, its just fine, Here is a mini review (Copy pasted from another forum)

Okay So I got my Mini as well, And here is a short review from a Layman

Setup

Its really easy to setup the entire thing, just take it out from the box and plug in an HDMI cable and connect it to your LCD/Plasma/LED

It gets automatically detected and all the files are scanned when it is plugged in for the first time, If you want to skip this step, you can go to the File manager view

The layout of the menu is fairly simple and easy to use, Has different options for Music, Movies, Firmware upgrade etc

I plugged in the unit to my Panny 42x20d and didn't see any huge difference, Hence was skeptical about posting a review thinking i must have done something wrong. You know, didn't want to put the product down when I am not a subject matter expert :-)

later i realized that the video output is on PAL mode and not on HDMI, Once I changed this, the result was amazing, I played a file that was around 20GB and the player took it effortlessly,

So to sum it up:

Pros:

Excellent value at its price

Easy to setup

It played all formats indifferent of the size

Menu is simple and easy to use

Picture clarity is Excellent and no frozen images

If you open the same file again, system will ask if you want to continue from where you stopped last.

Cons:

The remote looks like it was assembled in 15 minutes

The keys are not responsive, Also Fast forward and rewind options sometimes get stuck

Only one HD out, Cannot attach anything else

It takes eternity for the unit to power off

Overall verdict

I am pretty happy with the unit considering the price and what it could do, To me all I wanted was a player that will play videos on my Plasma without any Fuss, This player does just that, Ideal for someone who is looking to play HD files from a player without any Fuss.

IF you require any more details, ask me :-)

@ thirumalkumaran

Thanks for the link of the review.

@ Knight Rider

Thanks a lot for your review mate. It is good to read the first hand user experience.

My question is :-

1. Is the remote is flimsy ? After some usage it will go kaput like non-responsive button or dead remote ?

2. Sounding like stupid I know, But can u confirm :-

During use of HDMI port/signal is there any Audio out in the Red and White composite audio channel ?

Asking this because If I can use my headphone amp to route the audio in my headphone.

Thanks a lot.....Waiting for your input.

1st question: I am not able to give you an accurate answer as I have had it only for a couple of days, The remote just works fine barring the slower response time for FF and RW

2nd Question: I quite didn't get it... HDMI cable as you know, carries both audio and video,So if you want to use your headphone out, why don't you utilize the one on your TV?

Do let me know if I can help you further.

Thanks @ Knight Rider for the clearing my doubts and thanks for the help, As the price is very tempting there is no harm for trying one myself.

Ordered one from our in-house dealer dvdstoredelhi today and now it is on the way.

Let See.

Received the item Today, Thanks to dvdstoredelhi with prompt and fast service. He shipped the product same day in Bluedart.

The Answer is Yes. So this mean this oplay mini can send the Audio Signal in both HDMI and RCA Audio in the same time. (I don't test the video)

Though ofcourse user can use TV's Line out/Headphone out if available.

Most review/you tube video says it came with HDMI cable but not in indian package.

Any online store to buy.. Most of the online store are out of stock.. In ebay it's selling at arnd 4k but it was release to indian market at 3.5k

Also can i connect my 1 TB portable HD without any problem as i heard some media players won't support higher capacity portable drives. let me know

TIA

I bought from here Asus O'Play Mini HD Media Player 1080P with 7.1 Audio

You can contact him in the following email address or you can PM him in this forum, his ID is dvdstoredelhi. I enquirer about stock during purchase,as he stated he currently have 3 pcs left (which all sold out I guess) but plenty of stock available with National distributer. So restocking is not a problem.

No, MRP in the box printed is 4400/-, so in 4k in ebay after all those charge is sensible.

Can't comment on 1 TB but I use 500GB FreeAgent Go HDD max without any issue.

Bumping this thread since I have a concern. When I power off the player, it goes into standby mode, I power it on once again, playback any video and the sound goes off completely. I have momentarily connected it to my SDTV via composite cables. Could a firmware upgrade fix this issue? The player is currently on 1.10. Also I noticed the subtitle preferences do not get saved. Anyone else facing/faced this issue?

I have a problem,

i have connected my 1 Tb HDD to corrupt desktop and the HDD got infected...

when i connect it to Asus o mini R1 player its showing file names with its extension like moviename.mkv...

problem is, its not showing subtitles which are moviename.srt

i dint find any any topic in relation to affection in media players so posting it, pardon me if i misplaced it..

Thanks,

Pavan
