Not sure about the legitimacy of that buy my friend recently purchased windows XP from this place: http://software-shopping.net.

and here are windows 7 prices: http://software-shopping.net/shop/search/?s=windows+7 But I think these are OEM packs.

In India, right now Windows 7 Home Premium retail is priced at 5.5k and Professional at around 9k I think.

forgot to mention that immediately after installing the version that my friend downloaded from http://software-shopping.net, he installed WGA patch and tried to activate winxp. His winxp got activated and is shown as a genuine OS. Anyways, their online price is more or less the same as the price for which MS sells win7 through official channels here in India.

Is that WGA patch from Microsoft? I mean what's the point in buying something if you need to patch it to pass genuine verification? I'm guessing your friend just kicked himself in the legs.

Without the COA sticker your friends purchase is not legit.

That WGA Patch sounds like...eeeeeer...something which is included inside Torrent download packages. I remember it.....it stops that annoying counterfeit nag.

better buy from Microsoft Store Home... I think the sites u posted are selling u pirated stuff... stay away from those sites....
 
if you want buy microsoft's original software, better buy only from official source like the ms store.

Others mostly sell pirated software in name of original. So its the same thing as cracked pirated copies.

I need a few clarifications with respect to Windows 7 products on this page WINDOWS 7 License KEYS

First of all, are these OEM, upgrade or retail versions.?
Will the keys pass windows genuine check?
Will they work internationally or is it limited to only USA and are these time limited versions?
Will I get Windows telephonic support for activation and the like.?
How can MS sell legit keys at such low prices.?

Here is the reply I received exactly an hour later,

Our license keys for win 7 are rull retail keys and you need to have the full retail version iso or windows dvd to use the keys.

Our keys will pass all microsoft checks, activations WGA or otherwise now, tomorrow, next year ect. They are real authentic Microsoft issued keys.

The keys are priced low because they are ment for people who already own a retail copy of windows who only need another licenses for a second third fourth ect pc. You are not buying the software only the right to use it on another PC.

If I have to purchase, I will never buy from source you mentioned.

I will prefer buying from local market, or Microsoft Indian store.

There are few methods to generate genuine key, or patch a pirated version but that works only for few months.

If by COA sticker you mean the one stuck behind the laptops and the one which comes with retail packs, then I can assure you, not all windows 7 sold will have them. For example the home premium and professional versions sold at the discounted price for students in US, UK are just downloads and the key is mailed to the student by M$.

very tempting indeed. Sounds genuine but also "Too good to be true" at the same time. Any rich folks there which care to test it out :p

Cheque picked up today from my doorstep by Quasar Media...Going ultimate for 9668/- (incl all),

I wanted to choose professional version which is 9356/- (incl all),but the difference is only Rs 312/- and that is not justified to go over ultimate. Thanks to Ankur Mittal from mera windows forum who guide me to use that site else I will be end up buying from Retail store by paying much more premium. In kolkata Home premium cost near 6.5k+(incl all) it just nearing 7k.......So 9.5k for ultimate is not possible from a retail store.

For those want to buy,

MS Store Accept ::- EMI & Bank Transfer from ICICI, Debit Card ICICI/HDFC, Credit Card & Cheque.

I opt for cheque coz I have all A/C in Sbi,So can't use the Debit Card or Online Bank Transfer....

Now waiting for delivery.
