Hey,

After using Nokia N79 for almost a year, It's time to upgrade to some good mobile phone...

Here's what I do the most -

- Talk for almost 2-3 hours/day on phone, so battery backup should be good enough..

- Almost 200-300 SMS chat/day :bleh: - keypad should be equivalent to that (QWERTY/numeric, both will do) also the SMS store capacity should be more.

- Good Camera (5 or 3.2 will do)

- Music phone is not needed..

- Of course, speed should be good..

Budget is around 15k. Want to get rid of N Series, and try something difference..

Nokia 5800XM - 13.2k

Its a very good phone . Touchscreen and qwerty on screen keyboard for messagings with 3.2MP camera. Very useful for SMS'ing

The real life performance is also quite impressive with the handset easily managing to go through three to four days of moderate usage (about 20 minutes of calls, 30 minutes of browsing through Wi-Fi and 20 minutes of fiddling with the other features a day).

With the latest firmware Nokia updates the contacts bar functionality as well. Now it features the contacts icons at the top and four customizable shortcuts at the bottom. The number of contacts that you can add is no longer limited to four and their thumbnails have been increased in size to make them more thumbable.

Another update brought by the latest firmware is the automatic switching between multitap and full QWERTY keyboard when you tilt the phone sideways. You no longer need to make two clicks to change the keyboard layout each time. That would be a real blessing for heavy texters.

Overall Pros and Cons

hey guys, activating this thread again..

After some huge financial crisis :bleh: I'm up with some money..

Want to a phone after N79, thinking about any Android phone within budget of Rs.20k

Suggest me the best android phone available in market below 20k.

Edit - How is Motorola Milestone? Is it worth the price? I just saw, Milestone is available for 25k on Ebay.in

Wait for a week or so.

E52 is being launched officially in India. Check out its specs and pics.

If you are fine with E series then you should give this one a look.

Users claim it to be a very good phone.

it's a relatively new launch(launched on 30th march '10 in india)
.it's launching price was 31k.
now after 1 month it's 25k.

if you can wait a month or two,
you will see it's price stabilise around 18-20k.

If you trust that seller and if it's new phone, just go for it

Milestone is one hell of a phone and would be perfect for heavy texting. outside it costs around 29k.

DONT wait for the newer nokia devices. Only after looking at Android 2.1, I understood how much stale Symbian platform has become.

Check these phones:

1) HTC Desire
2) Motorola Milestone (perfect for texting with 3.7" display and qwerty)
3) HTC Legend
4) HTC Incredible (CDMA)

I read at a lot of places that the Incredible is primarily a parlor trick on the Desire. Is that the case?

Well YES.....

It is essentially the HTC Desire..... only this is the CDMA verison......

The same hardware with cosmetic changes. But i even heard that the Incredible packs a little lesser RAM..... need to confirm that.....

Incredible has higher resolution cam If I am right

Yup.... You are absolutely correct.....

I missed that one..... The Incredible has 8MP while the Desire has 5MP.....
