hey ppl...i wanted some opinions on the following laptop config...how is the performance and price expected to be ??

where are you getting this from? AFAIK, the NVS140m isn't even out as yet (or is it?)

The 140m is the replacement for the Go7400 and is essentially what you could call Go8400
 
It depends on the country from where you are getting.

If its from UK, it may cost you around 75K INR,

If its from US, around 55K INR....

GIve us more details, i.e. Make and series...

The same setup in a bloated ABS box may come for $900

in a sleeker mg-alloy body, it may cross 1200, all the more so if it is carbon fiber...

Cost of lappies unfortunately is not as simple to work out as a desktop...you can't just add up the component costs

If I'm not wrong, that sounds like Lenovo Thinkpad T61. The only lappy out right now with that GPU, AFAIK.

I configg'ed yday with a much better config and it came up to 1500USD. With a 2Ghz C2D Santa Rosa (T7300) and 2GB RAM with a WXGA+ screen.

The exact config you posted is coming to 1380$. So umm, that's what it should cost. :)

that was a nice guess...thats a lenovo R61...am getting it for 53.7K all inclusive (including delivery in india)...i hope its a good deal...

Damn close. :D I could have bet it was the T61, cuz that's the hottest Lenovo model on NBR right now. :D

Why not a 2Ghz 7300? For a bit more, you get 4MB of cache....it sounds like the VFM proc in the Santa Rosa line. :)

Damn! Thats the new Lenovo T61!!! Did u get it with the memorial week offer?? If so thats one hellava deal and can be taken with eyes closed! :D
