Warning Mobile Phone Users - Read this info
=======================================================================
Note1:
If you receive a phone call on your mobile from any person, saying that, he
Or she is a company engineer, or telling that they're checking your mobile
Line and you have to press # 90 or #09 or any other number. End this call
Immediately without pressing any numbers. There is a fraud company using a
device that once you press #90 or #09 they can access your "SIM" card and
Make calls at your expense. Forward this message to as many friends as you
Can, to stop it.

Note2:
All mobile users pay attention if you receive a phone call and your mobile
phone displays (XALAN) on the screen don't answer the call, END THE CALL
IMMEDIATELY, if you answer the call, your phone will be infected by a virus.
This virus will erase all IMEI and IMSI information from both your phone and
Your SIM card, which will make your phone unable to connect with the
Telephone network. You will have to buy a new phone. This information has
been confirmed by both Motorola and Nokia. There are over 3 Million mobile
Phones being infected by this virus
In all around the world now. You can also check this news in the CNN web
Site.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS PIECE OF I NFORMATION TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS HAVING A MOBILE

Guys received this as email from my friend.

Donno how much of this is true , but posted here as
" Prevention is better ......"

On some business phones, however, dialing "nine-zero-pound" may transfer a call to an outside operator and give the caller the opportunity to call anywhere in the world and charge it to your business' phone bill ... maybe. It all depends on how your business' telephone system is set up. If your company doesn't require you to dial 9 to get an outside line (for example, if you have a direct outside telephone line on your desk or if your company's phone system requires you to dial a number other than 9 to get an outside line) the "nine-zero-pound" scam does not affect you. Also, if your company's phone system is set up so that you cannot make a long distance call once you have accessed an outside line (a lot of companies now limit all outside lines to local calls only), the "nine-zero-pound" scam does not affect you either.

part hoax....doesn't affect most of us

HOAX !
I wish ppl would be more responsible. And with the second statement (XALAN shit) i think if it was admitted by Nokia and Motorola it should be on the websites !
And if its on CNN website (your claim). You could have checked that atleast before posting !

well
sim card clonin is possible with a sim card reader/writer/flasher.........

see ur sim has a unique no. on it's back.... that no.

1)connects to the proper mobile network
2)that no. identifies ur particular no. on network fr CLIP facilities
3)that same no. is used to charge ur account when u make calls

actually it is sim no. that is linked to ur phone no.
sim copy can be made only if u hav the original sim with u...

after the copy is made both the phones will register on the network as same mobile no.'s and the calls made will be charged to same account....
----------------------------------------------------------------------

or consider it this easy way: suppose you have a hutch card. and ur phone gets stolen.... so now u want the same phone no...

u go to hutch and give them ur photo id or whatever...
they take a blank new sim card;put it into sim card flasher and that unique sim no. is linked to ur old mobile no.
now hutch does not need the original sim because it is not replicating the old sim but producin the same sim with same parameters
since all the networks are connected; ur phone gets registered as the old phone no. in all networks.......

hope that helps.

well of the above i think most are true
but collected frm friends;;;

more power,aka.

No offence meant Quad. I just expect a respected and senior members like you to post better. Now imagine a n00b coming across such a post from a senior member like you and then spreading the news cuz now he thinks its true as its posted on a "popular Indian techie forum" by a "senior member".

We should atleast try to verify facts that we can - like if it says its on CNN or something then we can check it.

@aka911, Nice info there :cool2: Thanks.

Raghunandan.
