Warranty for WD Mybook Shucked Drives

Does WD honor such drives warranty in India? Any recent experiences?

Edit: Should have mentioned, I don't have the outer cases anymore, so can't put it back and send for RMA.

I've heard stories of people having warranties honored even on naked drives, though in some cases they had to cite the US Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which obviously isn't a thing here. That said, if the drive's already dead, there's no harm in trying IMO.

The drives aren't actually dead, a client had used them in his video production studio, and wants to sell.

Last time I spoke to wd india head, ( 3 4 years back) they do give warranty for these drives if,
1) prior permission is obtained- citing recovery of data
2) original casing also should be available.
