Hey guys,
Looking for a water purifier. We already have an Aquagaurd installed (some 6-7 years old), and it undergoes regular maintenance every 6 months.
Earlier, we used to get it serviced through the official AG channel, but their service was pathetic, untimely and incurred lots of calling on our part. Got fed up and booked AMC with a 3rd party. Service was timely, but with an issue. Earlier, with the same water, there were no problems in boiling pulses/legumes perfectly, but after the AMC change, most of the pulses don't get cooked properly, even after pressure cooking them for twice the time. There's no change in the taste.
Has the hardness/TDS increased ?
Possible issue with the new AMC company using sub par products (we get the candles and carbon changed in front of us) ? Anything particular to keep in mind ?
Thinking of using a non-electric purifier alongwith it, i.e. the AG water goes into the gravity based purifier and is then consumed/used.Good idea ?

Kindly help !

All AMC from Aquasure has gone to trash. Even we changed to Kent RO & Whirlpool RO. Both AMC is not up to mark. We had PureIT Advanced in Office/Kitchen, which is good but the TDS level after purifying is not upto mark. But its VFM.
Anyway you can get the TDS meter from eBay around 500-750 basic model and check the TDS level before and after.
I am also wanting advice in this area. So Advice wanted from TE.

My ag service hardly visits even after calling. Did ask around to the ag tech, how the tata swach, pureit etc are in comparison to UV and he said these only do basic filtration, plus some of them add chlorine to the water to kill germs. Saw on flipkart, that some companies don't even have replacement stocks in market for the filters in question. So ultimately, UV based or RO based filters are best.

I am also using AG since 6-7 yrs. But my experience with 3rd party AMC is very good. They always proactively call for service and present on 2nd day after any complaint or whenever I switch to new rented home. I was planning to switch to RO but that service guy suggested that instead of spending money in that better add a additional filter fitted outside called "Miracle" (if I remember the name right) whose filtered water is equivalent to RO.

One of my friend bought Tata Swach but he is not happy with it.
Another friend is using B-Nova based on BARC technology and satisfied with quality and service. They also have RO based purifiers

Our AG is over 12 years old..... (there was a period of almost 2 years - 2005-2007 when it was not in use)

We have stuck to AG - AMC & not had any problem till date with their service [Mumbai].

Replaced Candles etc a couple of times. For the past 1 year - there are times when a 'beeping' sound is produced & which continues for long & at rare moments the water stops too. Has the unit reached it's "end-of-life?" ... my wife wants to buy a new one now & the AG guys who keep coming over too have been suggesting the same (of course their opinion does not matter to me).

If I have to buy a new one, I would want to try some other brand or should I stick to AG (do not wish to spend more than 10k on this).

Last year, I was also facing some/similar issue with my AG. Continuous and changing beep randomly but water didn't stopped. I called AMC guys, which came next day, examined it and said nothing to worry. He explained,"AG filers store information about how much water is filtered and there is a limit which is set default. Once the counter touch that limit it starts beeping like this." Then he reset that counter and AG beep back to normal.

You can try your luck if that is the problem with your filter. If you want to buy new one, check this RO model within 10k range.
