Sorry for bringing an old topic back again, but couldn't find the old thread.
Long story short, my folks need to buy a new water purifier back home. Have been using the basic Aquaguard for over 15 years or so now, changing the candle and carbon every 4 months, but my mom feels it's time for a change. (We moved places 10 months back and for some odd reason my mom's hairfall increased a month after we moved. She came to my place for a month and had no hair problems whatever. Her hair problems almost go away whenever she's out of the house for extended periods of time, leading her to believe that the water is faulty. We get government supply water).
Since we have been using Aquaguard, she insists on getting a new AQ model. Local distributors are willing to give a 2k exchange discount on any of the AQ models. From the details given on AQ's site, we've shortlisted:

2) AQ Enhance RO + UV (http://www.eurekaforbes.com/Products/EFL_ProductDisplay.aspx?pid=230)

Which of these should we prefer ? No idea about the TDS range and I doubt my folk will go through the exercise of getting it checked.
