Hi,

I want to buy a good water purifier. I live in Mumbai. We dont have the BMC water supply yet. We are using borewell water.
Anyone please tell me which water purifier is best for borewell water.

I would suggest you look at aquaguard. They have different purifiers for different water conditions, so call up the dealer and get the best one for you

RO technology is good where there is arsenic content in the water or the area is arsenic prone. Its not a good solution for stopping germs. I think a better solution is Hindustan Lever's "Pure-it" (1600/-), it uses multiple filters and chlorin disinfectant.

Puja399, I have already mentioned that it is a borewell water...so its TDS will be high...pure-it will not decrease the TDS level & the purification may be not good as the price is too less as compared to other purifiers...

Eureka forbes person has visited my house & he is suggesting Aquaguard booster...is it good ??? because he hasn't checked the TDS level of water...
Anyone...plz suggest?

Hi,
Today Eureka forbes person visited my house. He checked the TDS. It is 257. He is suggesting to use Aquaguard RO Reviva & RO NF i.e Nano filtration(price Rs.14500). It reduces 40% TDS and will retain minerals in water.
While Aquaguard Sprigfresh RO(Rs.14000) & Aquagard RO smart(Rs.9150) will reduces 90% TDS but it will not retain minerals.
I am confused. Plz let me know what to choose & your experience regarding the same.

@amolg : as you use the borewell water that likely to be hard and as the analysis probed it.

You need to put up a RO system at your place to rectify water impurities.

Dont look at market jargons.

the reliable companies are Permionics / Hitech / then i will put Eureka Forbes.

There can be some local brands also, which are good at service support you can look at them too.

Take care while you select a brand that service support is good / you will have to keep an active AMC as Maintaining RO system is costly otherwise.

Hi medpal,
Thanks for the info. I am going for permionics pureflo. Please let me know whether it is good for borewell water as TDS is less than 500. Also as i read somewhere that RO will not retain minerals...is it true? How much should be the TDS for normal drinking water(not biselari or any purified water bottels)?
Also how is the service of permionics?

The permionics pureflo is a good purifier but not suited for borewell water. I use it and it is fantastic for BMC water.
As medpal says, for borewell water you have no option but to go for a RO system. It is true that RO will get rid of mineral content but you have no choice.
The e-boiling or micro filtration processes are not suited for hard water.

hi amolg,

for borewell water the pureflo model is not suitable because of hardness of water the purifying membrane will be destroyed.

you need to go for the RO system at your place.

In my city the service of Permionics is very good.

I am totaly cofused now,

Which RO system & the company service is good?
Disadvantage: waste lot of water, minerals will not retain, expensive...

medpal,
How come the pureflo membrane will destroy if the TDS is 257. Then what should be the TDS for normal water.?

I am going for Perma Pure from permionics. Anybody has used that. Please let me know what is your experience with it.
