Hi guys. I'm looking for a an upgrade to my 5233. My requirements were :-

Gps+Wifi+good resolution touchscreen + min 5 mp cam with flash. I haven't had the android experience yet but I'm not too keen either since for me my phone is about texting and calling with a little bit of sos browsing if needed. Kinda zeroed in on the Wave 2 , cause anything beigger than that will be a little uncofortable to handle like phone. My dad has the Omnia HD and I knida find it a pain to keep in the pocket or text and stuff. I went through the wave thread and read somebody said browsing in an issue with the memory not enough errors and stuff ? I was really hoping to buy the wave but now im a little apprehensive. Could you wave users please post in your experiences/recomendations ?

Thanks alot.
karan

Why spend so much when your requirement is so basic?Buy a good old symbian and stay happy.

I maybe able to answer your queries tomorrow as i am getting my order delivered tomorrow.

I was using x6 till now the same good old symbian your 5233 has and after i used wave for 5 mins i was really impressed. No lags, nothing. it was fast, real fast!

I would say get it.

After the 2000 off coupon at lets buy it comes to 13.7k. real vfm!

As far as I know there is no considerable lag in the browser. Dolphin Browser is far better than any other browsers currently in market including Android ones. In Bada 1.2 its really fast. Am a user Samsung Wave I. So Karan U dont need to worry about browser, and phone is really good for the money value. Go on Order it off without a second thought :) it wont disappoint you for sure.

wave 8500 was really worth it when it was launched.

i'm disappointed by slcd on wave II

it just does not feel like a premium device anymore.

although, satisfies your needs very well.

Defy could be android contender for the same but it is a bit bulky. I would suggest trying both at nearest electronics mall and then decide if size is a factor under consideration.

Hi guys !
Thanks for the advice Vibu.
Waiting for your impressions faraz.
Re Dragon- time for change mate, going out for my mba, want to carry a smart device.
Madnav- Im not a very finicky person in matter like these, I went o croma as you suggested. Defy is pretty bulky and the wave is pretty beautifull. Just that i hope i can customise the Ui on wave a little. Did not like the stock widgets and background.

Can there be any other option ,cause I kinda found wave very slightly bigger than what i would like. Just that my dad has alota contacts in samsung and I'll get it for like 12k.

Looking forward to replies, thanks alot people.

Ok so i got my wave II yesterday.

First thing i noticed was that the mobile looks much better in reality and the screen is simply gorgeous.

The phone is very fast on the latest firmware and i encountered no ram issues till now while browsing.

The cam captures real good images and videos.

Overall i am happy with it. Its miles ahead of x6 i had before :)

Okay so no problem in browsing right ?
And the camera and gps locking ? COuld any of you guys please share your experience on these two ?
Thanks alot.

@vibu and faraz

Could you guys do a video review or something like that, highlighting all those points that general reviewers miss out on.

A video review will take a lot of time, which i dont have nowadays due to exams. Maybe vibu can help you out with that.
I can help you with other questions and queries, ask here if you want. :)

Anyways i found some heating issues with the phone while tethering via usb on my laptop. It gets too damn hot. I am on 3g btw.
And i faced 3-4 restarts till now, but these are nothing compared to the no of restarts i used to have on nokia x6 :P
Other than that its a great phone and battery with my kind of usage lasts for around 1.5 days. The same used to last me for 6-8 hrs on x6.
Till now no lags in the browser and no out of memory errors. Heck i am typing this from my wave II. Though the facebook app on the mobile sucks it always says fb server not stable.
I have a question though. I synchronized my fb contacts with the phone and now when i try to send a group message it always asks me to choose between the mobile no and the email id manually. How can i make it to send the message to mob no by default as choosing no's manually in a group of 36 people is really a pain.
