Warcraft 3 - The first games are scheduled to start from the 4th of october. Sagar (wc3) seems to have a tough group this time round, Grubby is the best freaking player in the world, XiaoT is right there in the top 10, DeMuslim surpried me by qualifying, but he's in 4k so he has got to be good. Giacomo is again a good UD. So thats 4 players who will 9 times out of 10, beat Sagar.

The other two should be beaten pretty soundly.

Sagar is an awesome player though and no one expected him to beat gostop at ESWC last year so we can't rule out any miracles. Plus hes almost single handedly introduced pro-gaming into India by getting a sponsorship by reliance.

To summarize, a top 16 finish this time round should be incredibly hard (bordering on impossible). If Sagar manages it then he definitely deserves our respect.

Dunno how many people here care about wc3 but I was bored, had lots of free time and just wanted to share some gyan :D

Sagar will win his 1 or 2 games and come back and gostop lost intentionally btw. As for grubby, i personally want him to win....hes been through a rough patch (by his standard) and would love to see another grubby vs moon final ;).

moon will "elf imba" his way to victory if it comes down to an orc vs elf game. I think some human will get this tourney though.

And sagar is not going to beat xiaot or grubby. No way. Maybe giacomo if he plays well but those two are a good deal ahead in terms of skill.

Just hope sagar proves me wrong. :)

PS - Gostop lost deliberately, everyone says that. So maybe he was looking for an easier seeding/underestimated sagar or whatever, fact remains, sagar is the only guy who managed to beat him. :P

dont be sure on moon, grubby has proven that wrong lot of times. What Gostop didn't count on was a 3 way tie....in which he rolled sagar comfortably. Anywayz enuf of past :@

maybe grubby....well prolly both. But what keeps sagar back i don't get, he CAN play with asian to european players and he seems to give enuf practice time also. Wonder what keeps Indian wc3 players down....they seem to be lacking frm skill - preparation to every1 :|

Lack of exposure to similarly skilled players in a LAN setting. You can play on the internet all you want but there is something different about playing on LANs.

plus the home scene ain't too great either. The only player close to sagar in skill is nikunj.

heres news straight from seattle.
im through to the last 16 players. i lost to austria and beat england and bulgaria. i made a mistake in the first lap and the bh**c*** austrian went and dropped the donut on me while i was catching up (and i really was).
reuben made it through to the second round by default before the rounds started because i think none of the other gamers in his group other than his opponent got their visas to come.
ate beat the swiss and tied with portugal. theyre currently playing usa and i dont know whats going on because im basically sitting somewhere else using the internet.
the aoe guy and carrom 3d guy and pgr guy lost their matches but had a good experience, we're all really liking it here so far.
sagar has to play his first rounds tomorrow.
anyway im pretty hungry now so im gonna go eat something.
adios amigos

congrats arun.. i think i told u, you can beat all in that group :P

and n1ce out as predicted.. think everyone on audi and corvette??

good luck! get on the podium this time!
