Your best bet is to check the label on the hard drive.

Else, you can look up the model number of your hard drive and then Google it to find its specifications.

In order to find the model number, right-click on My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager -> Expand the Disk Drives and you should see your hard disk's model number.

Caviar Green 3.5" is 5400 RPM??

That is something new I am hearing..... :S

Actually, WD has never specified the RPM of the Caviar Green. They call the rotational speed as Intellipower defined as "A fine-tuned balance of spin speed, transfer rate and caching algorithms designed to deliver both significant power savings and solid performance."

But it has been seen to give performance close/similar to the 7200 RPM drives.

Yup. There are both 5400 and 7200 rpm WD Caviar Green hard-disk. Just look up for your model no. and google to know the rpm.

As easy as it sounds.
