Western Digital has annunced a new series of HDDs for Network Attached Storage ( NAS ) devices , called WD Red .

The WD Red series , specifically designed for SOHO NAS systems are tested to be compatible with top NAS manufacturers for power and performance .

The drives will come in 1TB , 2TB and 3TB capacities in 3.5 inch form factor . The Red range of drives features NASware technology , which is designed to improve reliability and performance .

The drives will come with 3 year warranty and will be available soon in India . The MSRP in the USA is set at $ 109, $ 139 and $ 189 for 1TB , 2TB and 3TB drives respectively .
