I have a 2 -3 year old 250gb Western Digital HDD and still have 2 years of warranty remaining..

Now recently i found out that the disk has a few bad sectors... what should i do about it ??
do the bad sectors mean that the Hdd is heading towards it end ??? should i RMA it ??

Currently the drive is working.. and im using my OS on it..
Is there any Software that can take of this ???

TIA.

RMA it at the earliest possible time. Softwares will just avoid writing data to the affected sectors. They will not heal bad sectors. While a few drives with bad sectors might survive for surprisingly longer times, most fail sooner or later and it is wise to expect the worst and RMA it when it is still under sufficient warranty.

Ok now just one more question..

I bought the HDD around three years back.. and i dont have the bill..

but i have registered the disk on the WD website and it shows 700 days remaining..

So how do i go about RMA'ing it ???

Is there any official wd store where i can take it directly.. ???

TIA.

edit - I checked the WD process it says.. i have to run the wd diagnostics tool.. and it should show my drive as defective.. but it is showing as good.. But HD tune shows it has bad sectors but it is just warnings in yellow backgrounds..
