Hey guys,
My HP dv6767tx Laptop just hanged while using Linux Mint. I restarted and there was a message that S.M.A.R.T system of WD xxxxxxx HDD failed. Failure is imminent. Backup your data. Press F1 to continue (F1 didn't work though, Upon restart - same thing again.)
I thought it must be a linux partition. So removed the HDD, Attached to another PC and then formatted linux partition. Still the Failure msg persisted. So now backing up the data.
In case of RMA, I am confused as to if I have to change only HDD or have to send the Laptop to HP centre. (Although my HP warranty expired and I bought it from another city).
I tried calling their Tollfree no. but no response, mailed at - wddirect.india@wdc.com
So what are the alternatives now ?
