Hi,

I am looking for WD Red NAS drive. Are they available in India, specifically Nehru Place. Can any help me where can I get them and what are the indicative price.

yup they are available at nehru place ,last time when i asked it was priced 6800 (4-5 months ago) for 2tb ,u can ask from "direct advantage" shop in nehru place

After trouble with green drives I want to consider these Red drives for my NAS. Hope they live up to expectations and what they claim.
 
i have not bought those red drive as i bought Toshiba 2 tb that time as they were cheap and running just fine ! i was planning to buy those red if not able to get these toshia/hitachi one

I m also not using it as NAS drive. But bought them because they are better than green drives as warranty is of 3 years, may be due to better QC process. Hence found them reliable.
 
I am currently using Green drives in my NAS and after recent failure of 1 2TB and 1 1.5 TB drives, I am thinking of using RED drives. Luckily the 2TB had three year warranty.

Are 3TB or 4TB RED available in India? Any pros and cons of getting them from Amazon.com?
 
If getting WD drives from abroad, you can claim warranty only once in a year, IIRC. 3TB Red was selling for some 10.8K when I bought my 2TB drive. Currently its priced at 10.5K at primeabgb.
