huh ? Not responding ?In what way

I sent my WD MyBook Esssential 640GB for RMA on 16th July Thursday and filled a RMA request one day prior to the courier Pickup on thursday

The courier guy came with 48hours for the pickup and plus it was a GATI pickup(Very trusted)

Did u try calling their toll-free number ?

well the status in the online website says still pending guess WD hasnt paid any attention to the complaint or RMA request that was filed . if anyone can gimme a wd cc in chennai it will be very help full :D

Give a call to d wd toll free no.(u can get it frm d wd website) And request them to arrange pickup and a guy frm ai gati will pick up hdd frm ur door step. U ur lucky enough u may get a higher capacity hdd in return.

Once you initiate the RMA process online, you'll have to call up WD and provide them the RMA number you got, only then they'll send a courier person to your house.

P.S. Don't send the cables and adapters, just the drive will do.

so first we have to register the product and then apply for rma and after that we have to call the toll free number and provide the rma number? then only the courier dude will come and pick up the defective product?

Correct, once you register your product only then you can create a RMA request and call the toll-free number so that the courier people can pickup your stuff !!

Arey... just call up the toll free number of WD na...they themselves will do the RMA generation, etc take ur address & give a call to the courier(GATI)to pick up ur stuff..u will have to do nothing except putting the defective device in abox, pack it well & hand over to the courier guy, when he comes ur home to pickup the HD within the next 48-72 hrs!

The problem lies..at what time/no.of days u get the drive back from WD!!!

My WD 1tb HDD drive is also under RMA from 12th July..no news of replacing/sending till now..& this is the second time, within a month i am going through this painful ordeal.

if this is the situation overall.i would say,W.D drives r piece of S**t,& buyers beware of them!

WD service is the best I have seen
Seriously, you just need to fill the form and call the Toll-free
You pack it using a bubble wrap, paste the barcode/address from the printout and give it to the courier guy they arrange

Every RMA status will be emailed / SMS
The product would be couriered again well packed right at your doorstep

It will take 1 week, but its the most hasslefree of all RMAs i have seen

It was actually user's fault of not calling the Toll-free number. It would be clearly mentione during the RMA registration

Since now we know what was wrong in the followed procedure for RMA, Can OP change the thread title please? :)

It is misleading now.
