WD TV Live-Unable to play MKV files

I have used WDTV's for a couple years now and think they are great. Today I connect my 1TB HDD with my router to play movie on my WD TV Live I noticed that when I am using Media Server to play a movie, its unable to play a movie. But when I transferred the same file on my laptop and played the file using windows share it can easily play the file.
Any solution for this issue?
 
Make sure the format of the file is correct. Most of the times if you give wrong extension that file can be played with no issue on pc but wdtv won't play it. My guess is that file is have some other video fomat than mkv check the codec of the video

To check the codec details
open the file in vlc-> tools->codec details

ok.Thanks for the reply. I am not the only person facing this problem..you can check it n the website.
 
Most probably it might be due to header compression in the mkv file. Use Mkvinfo to find if the MKV has header compression. You can fix this using mkvtoolnix then.
