Web development help for a personal website

I was looking to get an "official" mailing address for my business, an online travel agency. So used Google Workspace for it. The mail address has been up and running for almost 6 months now, but along with the mail ID, I am also paying for my domain, which, to my understanding, is being hosted by Squarespace. But I do not have a website at that address. How can I build and deploy my website on the domain?

Check there website builder as a beginner - https://www.squarespace.com/templates/get-started

I followed the link and was able to create an initial website, something that I can improve upon further, but I found something weird. Squarespace is asking for more money to publish it! To my understanding, I am paying for the domain and the mail address; why do I need to pay to publish my website ?
Do I need to publish my wensite on Google sites to avoid this extra charge ? If yes then is there anyway I can port my already created website to Google Sites ?

I don't have firsthand experience with squarespace (and sharing this based on their help page) but most low code platforms (like squarespace or zoho) don't allow you to export their websites or do it at an additional charge. Generally, movement between two such platforms almost never works, so you'll need to make your website from scratch in Google Sites.

However when it is time for you to renew your domain, you can move to a host which gives a starter site along with your domain name. Additionally, if you need basic emal address then you can use free tier of Zoho mail instead of Google workspace which will help you save some money.

@LaatSahab first move your domain out of squarespace. their pricing for domain is huge. use spaceship, cloudflare for domain. You need to pay for website as it is a separate service. You can get a hostinger hosting which will cost cheapest and best. manage workspace subscription directly. message me if you need help with any step, i can guide you. also have a hosting so i can give it for free.

Right now I'm paid up on Squarespace till September 2025, so I'm not going to jump ship just now. The problem I'm facing right now is that I have created a Google site; I have verified ownership of my domain with Google, but under settings of Google Sites, I am unable to put my custom domain there, as there is no option for it. Moreover in Squarespace as Custom record, I'm not able to put CNAME with value ghs.googlehosted.com for www

Could you please check if the squarespace default values are also there ? They need to be deleted first

So let me summarize my initial query here for the sake of brevity and clarity. How do I set up a simple website? I know I'm going to need 3 key items, so which one is going to give me the most bang for the buck? The bang I'm looking for is ease of use.
1. Domain provider
2. Web Host
3. Mailbox provider
Till now I have made 2 webpages in the low/no-code environment of Squarespace and Google Sites. I want a similar option for actual page development, so please suggest some suitable options for this task.

Deleted the Squarespace Defaults and added the www CNAME with value ghs.googlehosted.com
Now when I go to www.epcotsolutions.com I get the error page that cannot reach this page, and in Google Sites, there is still no option to publish the site on the domain.
What am I missing here? To my understanding, I need to point the Google Site to my Squarespace domain, for which I have made the necessary entries, but there is no option in Google Sites to point the site to the domain.
Edit: Custom Domain settings are now to be made in Google Admin Console and after doing so and waiting for DNS servers to refresh, the site is up now.
