Got the Sony CMU BR300 today. It was offered by the seller when C310 HD didn't meet my usecase(ID scan for online exams).

The seller shared me this image for the Sony product with 1600 x 900 resolution(not a native resolution of the webcam).

I clicked the below photo beside my window at 1080p.

I am not that familiar with webcams, I used the Windows default camera app. Am i missing something that is wiping out the camera quality this much?

Is there any driver update that I need to make? I didn't find anything on the Windows update or online.

In windows app, go to the settings -> photo settings . you can change the photo resolution.

Yes, the camera settings app. What should I make of it?

I already informed you that I have maxed out the camera resolution in settings which shows me 1080p for Sony.

Instead
Tell me the lighting condition in which you took the photo and the distance of the object from the camera when you clicked the photo. A screenshot of the settings app really explains nothing about the setup which generated such a better looking image.

I didn't change anything on app(it was default setting) or any special lighting conditions were used. I hold the camera in my hand to take the text image(approx. 6 to 8 inches) would be as you requested specifically asked for.
