Graphic Cards weird 9800pro problem

stormblast is right:but generally the problem increases as u up the res.My fried GF3 will show a display albeit very corrupted one as long as u keep the res. to 640x480 and as soon as it is increases to 800x600 screen goes blank.

that wont be card problem undertaker. that should be a refresh rate problem. check in the nvidia drivers n do override refresh rate on 800res which is supported on your monitor.
ive never heard a prob like this undertaker other than the refresh rate problem.

Naa...the card is fried man.Even at 640x480 its all red lines over the screen.
Point :Iff ur card is screwed it will exhibit greater corruption at higher resolutions.Even some cards that may boot into DOS will not allow u to load Windows at 1024x768 esp. if something is wrong with the card's ram.
U must have noticed that while overclocking nvidia cards u start to notice 3d corruption at speeds much lower than when 2d corruption starts to occur.Reasons are similar.

This is what my screen looked like when my 9800 Pro almost died.. The whole screen wud like that and i cudnt see anything. NOTHING. I wud PC in hibernation and restart. The desktop wud still carry the corrupted screen (thats how i cud manage to get a screenshot).

EDIT:

found out the other screenshot that i had somehow managed (almost blindly) to take of the corrrrrupt (heavily artifacted) screen.. :)

Must warn ya.. one file is 450KB in size n another about 525KB!

how do i confirm that?

can it be a powersupply problem or can it be sorted out by cleaning the card?

should i have it rma,do i need to test something?

how do i control the overheating?

my monitor does manage 1024*768 when i reduce the frequency and te frequncy is low that it shows line like.

Split thread :

Back to the main topic, my prob similar to Satangamers resurfaced, this was after I removed my hdd and installed another one, the screen would just blank out after Windows XP loading screen. I removed the card and re-inserted is working alright
