i just set up my new linksys WRT54G router today for wireless as well as lan internet access. initially i had an ip conflict issue as the default ip of the router was the same as that of my airtel internet modem but that was easily sorted out.
anyway, i went on to connect one PC to the router with an ethernet cord and also connected wirelessly from my laptop. the internet on both worked well for about 2 minutes. i went down for a drink of water and came back... i see that the laptop wireless connection was still working fine. on the desktop however, i got a Limited of no connectivity for some weird reason. this was about 2 mins after i left the desktop signed into msn and some websites loaded.
from then on, no matter what i do, i can't seem to get the internet running on the desktop pc. both the laptop and desktop were set to obtain IPs automatically but i tried giving the desktop an IP manually. as soon as i did that, the network connection went from limited to a full connection but i still can't browse. i see the desktop sending packets but i don't see any being received. it just seems really weird that it would work fine for 2 minutes and then stop on its own without anyone touching anything. any suggestions? :<
