finally i formatted my USB drive.. but still when i insert the USB drive to my laptop its shows VIrus detected ..
please suggest me some good utility to remove this problem..

do i need to re install whole windows ??:(

Pls help..
Thanks in advance

Most likely the virus has already infected your computer. (Probably gphone.exe/new folder.exe/Auto.It virus). Try and find the name of the virus and search for a removal tool on Google. If that doesn't help, format is another option. Format only C: and re-install Windows and the antivirus. Don't touch anything from other drives till your AV is installed and running. Run a full system scan to remove possible viruses from other drives.:hap2:

Install a good antivirus & scan any new media inserted into the computer before accessing it.:cool2:

@ OP, first disable Autorun, also check the name of the virus detected. Google for it and find a good virus removal tool (from Mcafee or Kaspersky etc). Disable system restore and run the tool in safe mode. If possible post your "hijack this" log. Also do a full system scan with malware / spyware busters. Reinstalling is the last option, only in case of windows not starting, too buggy. You could use bit defender if you are not too happy with avast.

Cheers !

Like mallik said, format and reinstall of OS should be your last option. Try all the intermediate options before reinstalling. You are having avast, so you can schedule a boot scan. First disable system restore before doing this.

the virus name is winupdate32.exe

the virus makes a folder in pen drive "RECYCLE"

and an autorun script

i m also having the same virus but cant delete it

Use Avast Pro 4.8 antivirus after clean install .....I have faced smiler virus issue many times but avast was perfect guardian .

Delete autorun.ini from all drives. This virus force system files/hidden attrib to many folders restoration is by attrib -H /S /D add more switch -R on need.
