Weird problem in Vista

Hi

I've not been able to connect to broadband from past couple of days though GPRS is working fine..My laptop is getting slow day by day. The space on C partition is getting consumed and free up by 3GB or more..:huh: I had KIS 2010 installed with trial period key still left for 25 days but yesterday its database and other features automatically got corrupted, and trial period key got blacklisted.:S What can be the problem guys? i did scan the drive but nothing was found..

I was browsing hackforums and downloaded Keylogger there and i did fiddle with the same and created some server.exe file.. since then my BB is not working and system is not behaving well..

Scan with Malwarebytes and if possible do a spybot scan too. Remove Kaspersky for now if you havent done that already. Try doing a clean boot and disabling all that is not neccessary. Looks like a virus infection.

hi muzux2, you can browse what ever site you want and also can download any file there is no restrictions. The thing is that you should be properly protected. Your should have a good AV. And try any new files or programs in virtual mode i.e., in a virtual PC, so there is least chance of viral infection. I suppose that server.exe file that you executed might be the cause. Scan with a good AV, try avast and scan in boottime mode. Also use spybot search and destroy.

The infected files are from "MY Web Search folder", i wonder what this signifies? was this all because of keylogger or what..

Everything looks fine. Just 1 bad entry and it says the file is missing so its fine. Just give it a scan with Spybot Search and Destroy and you should be good to go
